Field Trips : for Preschoolers

Groups of preschoolers may visit our Preschool Gallery, an interactive playspace designed specifically for infants through four-year-olds. Children can climb on a fire engine, splash at water tables and dig into discovery boxes. Gallery space is limited and remains open to the general public during your visit.

Cost

Groups must register in advance to receive these rates:

  • A non-refundable $100 deposit is required 30 days prior to your group visit to guarantee your Field Trip reservation. Balance due in full upon arrival.
  • $5 per person (children and chaperones) for Field Trip only; one free teacher per 30 students during the school year; $100 minimum charge for school groups.
  • $10 fee for 30-minute use of a lunchroom.

Reserve Early

Please call well in advance to reserve the day, time and lunchroom you want. Our lunchrooms fill up months in advance, especially during the spring months. Group visit is two hours. Lab classes are not available for preschool groups. Lunch is within this time frame, not added to the end of your visit. Only one preschool group is scheduled at a time, call early to reserve a time!

Your Arrival

When your buses arrive, your group will receive a brief orientation on the bus. Each teacher, leader and chaperone will be given a name tag with the complete schedule for your visit.

Chaperones

Chaperones are extremely important for any group’s visit to the Hands-On Museum. For a safe and successful visit, we request one adult attend for every six children in your group. Chaperones will keep their groups safe to and from the bus as well as on schedule for lunchroom visits. Chaperones must remain with their groups at all times.
