Press ReleasesJanuary 25, 2012New Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum App Offers Interactive ExperienceVisitors to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum can now indulge in a more interactive experience, thanks to its recently released free iOS app, "AAHOM". The app features general information on the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, including address, phone number and hours as well as a map of the museum and a listing of upcoming events. The app, developed by Ann Arbor-based Pearl Crescent, also features videos that offer more information, quick facts and other information. The videos can be launched by scanning QR codes on the Museum's most popular exhibits. "We are pleased to offer our visitors a new, hands-on way to interact with the Museum," said Mel Drumm, executive director, Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. "Creating new opportunities to learn is core to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum mission, and the AAHOM app supports that mission. We are grateful to Pearl Crescent for creating this new experience for visitors to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum." The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum app is available by searching AAHOM in the iTunes store. It is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. The app requires iOS 4.0 or later. This is the second mobile device app devoted to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. At the TechTwilight 2011 event, Ann Arbor software firm SRT Solutions launched the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum music player app. Available in the Android Market, the "AA HandsOn Museum Music Player" is a playful interactive app that lets users play notes of the piano, violin, or trumpet.
