    More than 250 interactive science, technology, energy and health exhibits await students of all ages.  We’re experts at making sure that bringing your group to the Museum is smooth sailing all the way. Discounted admission for groups of 20 or more!

  • ScienceWorks

    Your students become scientists during our 50-minute ScienceWorks Labs that provide hands-on experience with a variety of topics identified in the Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations.  Each lab includes pre-visit and post-visit classroom activities.  Labs are available year-round for preschool to middle school students.

  • Outreach

    It's Science on Wheels: We bring the Museum to you!  We offer fun, inquiry-based programs for the students in your classroom, library, festival or youth center! All programs address objectives outlined in the Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations and include pre- and post-visit activities.

  • Series Outreach

    We bring science activities, writing exercises, and academic confidence to your students. Our programs are proven to correlate with a rise in Science MEAP scores among participating students. Each program is a series of workshops led by a highly qualified teacher and aligns with MI Grade Level Content Expectations.  All materials are provided.

  • Distance Learning

    Our educators use videoconferencing to engage your students in a dynamic, hands-on learning experience. Program kits sent to classroom teachers include nearly everything you need for experiments. Kits are yours to keep! All programs address National Science Education Standards and align with Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations.

  • Professional Development

    Join us for fast-paced, hands-on teacher workshops that provide elementary and middle school educators with new hands-on tools for incorporating interactive science and math activities into your classroom.  Join us for professional development opportunities both at the museum and at your school.

    Explore week-long science and math activities with Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum staff and community collaborators.  Elementary and middle school children can investigate a different theme each week through hands-on and engaging fun.

Summer Camps 2013

We are partnering again with Ann Arbor Education and Recreation to bring you 5 awesome summer camps!  Each themed camp is a week long and will be held at local community buildings.  Please check out Ann Arbor Rec and Ed’s site for registration details.

Engineering 101! (Starting grades 1-3) June 24-28

Become an engineer!  Build bridges, domes, and skyscrapers. Use your imagination to create complex contraptions from simple machines, using basic arts and crafts materials that can be found lying around your house.  Predict and test which materials and designs will create the strongest and sturdiest structures.  Click here to register!

 

It's Electric (Starting grades 3-5) July 8-12

Learn about the wonders of this natural phenomenon. Ever shock yourself when you walk across a room? Does your hair sometimes stand straight up? Learn what electricity is, where it comes from, and how we use it. Build circuits, light bulbs, and other electric gadgets during this fun-filled week.  Click here to register!

 

On Your Mark, Get Set, Go! (Starting grades 1-3) July 15-19

From helicopters to racecars to the human body, explore things that go! Investigate movement by creating rubber band cars, air-powered rockets, and other simple vehicles. Campers will also challenge their bodies to move higher, faster, and further.  Click here to register!

 

Lights, Camera, Explosion! (Starting grades 6-8) July 29 - Aug 2

Do you like things that go Boom? Ever wonder how they work? Join us as we explore the science of explosions. Nothing is better than capturing explosions on film, right? You will perform these explosions for the camera as we create a Lip Dub (lipsync music video done in one take). You’ll go home with some explosive knowledge and a video to prove it.  Click here to register!

 

The Art of Science (Starting grades 1-3) Aug 26-30

Dabble in science concepts to create your own art gallery.  Each day a new science or math area will be explored and added to our palette.  We will grow crystals, create colorful geometric designs, and tile tessellations to show off how attractive, vibrant, and artistic science can be. Click here to register!
