Reciprocal Membership Benefits

As a benefit of being a member of the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum — the ASTC (Association of Science and Technology Centers) travel passport program participant — you gain free or reduced admission to more than 300 science centers worldwide.

Reciprocity is a mutual exchange of privileges between two institutions. For example, an ASTC member museum allows free or reduced general admission to members of other ASTC member museums.

ASTC policy states that science centers and museums located within 90 miles of each other are excluded from the reciprocal program. Starting April 1, 2009, reciprocation with the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and science centers/museums within 90 miles will be ½ off general admission by mutual agreement.

Reciprocal benefits are determined by each institution, therefore, benefits may change at any time and without warning. We recommend that you call the institution you plan to attend to confirm their reciprocal status. For example, some museums may limit the number of adults and children or the family relationship of those given free admission. You will need to present your Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum Membership Card and your photo ID to be eligible for reciprocal benefits.
