FIELD TRIPS : Planning Your VisitTo Arrange Your Field Trip
Register EarlyReserve your preferred date, time, lunchroom and special programs early. Our lunchrooms and labs fill up months in advance, especially during the spring months. CostA non-refundable $100 deposit required at least 30 days in advance to guarantee your Field Trip reservation. Balance due in full on arrival. Group prices apply to groups of 20 or more. Groups must schedule in advance to receive these rates:
ChaperonesChaperones and teachers are extremely important for your group’s visit. For a safe and successful experience, we request 1 adult for every 6 children. Chaperones guide groups to and from the bus, help students with exhibits, assist during ScienceWorks Labs and keep their groups on schedule. Chaperones must remain with their groups at all times. LunchThe Museum has limited facilities available for those who bring lunch. Lunchrooms must be reserved in advance — they fill up fast! Rooms are scheduled for 30 minutes in addition to your 2-hour visit. The Museum does not have food or drink available for groups. Several parks are located within a sort driving distance from the Museum for large groups who would like to eat outdoors during warm weather. Bus AccessComplete bus information will be included in your confirmation packet. Be sure your bus driver receives this information in advance. Buses can park off site free of charge. Hands-On StoreGroups may pre-order “Science-to-Go” bags that contain souvenirs, cool science items and fun facts about the items in the bag. Bags must be ordered at least 2 days in advance of your visit in order to allow time for assembly.
