The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and Leslie Science & Nature Center creates moments of discovery that inspire curiosity, exploration, and respect for STEM and the natural world. This year we invite you to partner with us on TechTwilight: Connecting Communities, a community art and technology project celebrating the intersection of science, technology, art, and imagination.
Through this shared community art and technology project, we invite families or individuals across our greater community to design and create their own unique LED and felt square, to be stitched together with pieces from fellow community members. Together we will build a community quilt for display at this year’s YpsiGlow Festival in Ypsilanti, MI on October 29. While TechTwilight will look different in 2021 without the in-person element, our community quilt will provide a shared experience, helping to rebuild connections, unite our communities, and brighten our days. Following its unveiling at the YpsiGlow Festival, we will incorporate a section of the quilt into an interactive Museum exhibit. Through its light and unique design, future Museum visitors will be encouraged to observe the finished project and to reflect, not on the hardships of the Covid Pandemic but instead, on the opportunities this time has given us to grow, to support one another, and to comeback together stronger.
We invite YOU to share in this experience and create your own LED Quilt square!
