Children Boys at Summer Camp

“I have many fond memories of LSNC summer camps, including exploring the pond ecosystem, fishing, and the day-to-day activities…when I think back to LSNC, all I remember are good memories.”

Children Balance Exhibit

“I am so grateful that AAHOM participates in the Museums for All program. This allows families like mine to have the opportunity to enjoy and share the museum with our children. It really makes a huge difference to parents to be able to provide such a fun special activity without having to worry about extra budgeting or not being able to afford to return. The entry process was very quick and non-judgmental…My boys and I had a lot of fun.”

— Rachel

Turkey Vulture

“I volunteer at LSNC as a raptor feeder…[it] has had an incredible impact on my appreciation and love for raptors and birds in general—especially vultures, since feeding them is my favorite. They’re quite charming, funny, and even playful at times!”

— Diego

Field Trip Children Lab Cow Eye

“I remember visiting [AAHOM] as a kid on a field trip. It was the most magical place…I am happy my kids can feel that magic often. I grew up to be a scientist and I think experiences like this museum can influence kids and show them it’s in their reach.”

— Caitlyn

Children Snow

“I have been visiting LSNC with my students for the last 14 years. I think the most memorable trips for kids have been working to create a community inventory of the Huron River at Island Park. Watching kids put on boots, use nets to sample macroinvertebrates, and then identify their findings…is an experience that is truly authentic and meaningful. Providing unique experiences that engage hearts and minds is a strength of the LSNC program and one of the reasons they are invaluable to our community.”

Child Steam Park

“The sensory packs [at AAHOM] are such a helpful addition. We have a young one on the autism spectrum, and having access to the tools in the sensory pack allows him to enjoy the museum just like all the other kids.”
